Where is the best place for New Yorkers to go skiing?
Well, if that’s not convincing enough, let me tell ya, it’s only one hour away from Manhattan.
*An hour 15mins to be specific.
Vicky and I were having a big Americano breakfast at a cafe before her flight to Boston.
As we devoured our food, an idea popped up – we wanna go skiing! It happened so last minute, so quick, it felt like a whirlwind.
Within an hour:
- She rescheduled her flight
- We booked our lift tickets (Make sure you purchase it few days ahead. Student discount is only during the weekends.)
- Ran home to change
- Got an uber and headed to Mt. Creek
The mountain is freshly coated in soft snow after the storm.
They open as a giant water park in summer which I can’t wait to come back!
They only opened 2 lifts that day, but there should be more during a busy season.
Here’s a full map.
Geographically, we don’t have big mountains near the city. So Mt.Creek is perfectly fine by us.
We took our time to enjoy a beautiful sunset and appreciate all the we have.
I don’t mean to brag, but in Colorado ski resorts make a mean hot coco and perfect fries!
Power hot coco is just not my thing. C’mon Mt.Creek, you can do better!
You will not find any uber from here back to the city. Call a Veron cab and split the fare.
